Team, there’s been a lot of talk swirling around the Arkansas GOP's proposed tax cuts -- and today, the state legislature begins a special session to decide on this proposal. I wanted to give you a breakdown of what this really means for everyday Arkansans.
Thanks to federal COVID-19 recovery funds, Arkansas had a nearly $1 billion surplus at the end of our last fiscal year. You may know this, but Arkansas is required to balance its budget year-over-year, and Arkansas legislators could use that surplus to aid families.
This is where the proposed tax cuts come in. Republicans in the state legislature are proposing reducing Arkansas's top income tax rate from 5.9% to 4.9% -- and my opponent, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, wants to eliminate it all together!
This proposal would see the wealthiest Arkansans benefiting the most from these tax cuts while so many hardworking families across the state are still struggling to get by.
Arkansas cannot have a successful economic recovery if the benefits are disproportionately designed to help a wealthy few. As governor, one of my top priorities would be investing in economic solutions that help every Arkansan. If you agree, will you chip in and join me in the movement to create lasting equity in Arkansas? [[link removed]]

Right now in Arkansas teachers are being underpaid, infrastructure is crumbling, and some families are unable to make ends meet -- but Republican lawmakers would rather focus on passing tax cuts instead of making investments in these critical areas of need.
I’m fighting to ensure that every Arkansan has an opportunity to succeed. Will you make a contribution so we can ensure we have the resources we need to take this campaign all the way to the Governor’s Office? [[link removed]]
