Back In The Room Where It Happens

A Broadway production was on stage at Bass Concert Hall when we went dark in March of 2020. Coming full circle, reopening Broadway in Austin tonight with Hamilton is the last phase of our return to full programming. We are thrilled to have everyone back!

Dec 7-19 | Bass Concert Hall

Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

TEXAS DEBUT

Jan 26-29 & Fri, Feb 4 | McCullough Theatre

“A stereophonic séance…stirring…refreshing…perseveringly soulful… ” —The Los Angeles Times

THE B-SIDE is an original performance based on an LP of work songs, spirituals, and toasts recorded in 1964 in Texas’ then-segregated prison farms. Eric Berryman, Jasper McGruder, and Philip Moore channel the inmates’ voices, via in-ear receivers, and transmit them live. Berryman also provides context from the book Wake Up Dead Man: Hard Labor and Southern Blues by Bruce Jackson, the folklorist who recorded the album.

UNTITLED TOAST <[link removed]> is work-in-progress companion piece showing on Fri, Feb 4 that Wooster Group will develop as part of their residency with Texas Performing Arts.
