Learn how to pass a local resolution in support of Medicare for All in your city or town.

National Nurses United

My name is Alex Newell Taylor. You may not know me yet, but I’m an organizer here on the Medicare for All Team with NNU. I wanted to reach out to tell you about an opportunity to plug into the movement this week, no matter where you live in the country.

It has been a busy few months in the fight for Medicare for All. We’ve been focused on targeting four of the holdout representatives in the House who have yet to sign on to HR 1976, the Medicare for All Act of 2021.

At the same time, activists have been building momentum in these priority districts and across the country by passing local resolutions in support of Medicare for All. In the last two weeks, resolutions passed in Sacramento and Hoboken – two cities represented by our priority reps, John Garamendi (CA-03) and Albio Sires (NJ-08).

These resolutions put more pressure on Congressional representatives to sign on to Medicare for All and taken together, they have the power to tip the scales.

If you’re interested in learning more about how to successfully push your city council to pass a Medicare for All resolution, please join the LIVE webinar organized by Public Citizen tomorrow, December 8, at 5pm PT/8pm ET.

You’ll hear an update from Rep. Katie Porter on the future of Medicare for All in Congress and local leaders who are running resolution campaigns in their communities.

In addition, you’ll hear from California Assemblymember Ash Kalra, the author of California’s single payer health care bill, about the urgent next steps to move CalCare forward when it’s up for reconsideration in January.

Please RSVP now to join tomorrow’s live town hall.

Hope to see you there,
