John, Dr. Oz is running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania on the promise that he’ll always “tell it like it is” — but his record of pushing phony products tells a different story.

In fact, he’s built a reputation and profited off a career pushing pseudoscience. He encouraged the use of diet pills that he falsely claimed were a “revolutionary fat buster” and a “magic weight-loss cure.” He also went along with Donald Trump to recommend the unproven COVID-19 treatment hydroxychloroquine early in the pandemic.

In fact, a 2014 study even concluded that half of his medical advice was either baseless or incorrect. It doesn’t take a doctor to know that’s not a strong grade.

So, when it comes to Dr. Oz’s claim that he’ll “tell it like it is,” here’s our rating:

With Dr. Oz reportedly placing a multi-million dollar ad buy, we’re going to need a surge of grassroots donations to fight back against his misinformation and show everyone that Val is the doctor and U.S. Senator Pennsylvania needs.
