Friend,

American politics is broken. So how can we fix it? Let’s look at the data.

Two groups of Americans who are woefully underrepresented in Washington: women and veterans. Although we make up just over half of the population, women account for only about 25% of our representatives in Congress, and even that number is up significantly from just two cycles ago. Veterans haven’t fared much better, either. Out of 535 members, under 20% have served – nearly the lowest number in our country’s history.

Thanks to the efforts of New Politics, which recruits, develops, and helps elect proven service-driven leaders, that trend is turning around. We can revitalize our democracy if we have more elected leaders who know what it means to put service to others over self-interest.

Will you split a $5 donation between New Politics and my campaign today to help them support more service members, especially women, running for office this election year?

When I decided to run for office, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. Having already served my country both at home and abroad, I was determined to overcome any obstacle. But truthfully, campaigning for office was challenging in ways I never could have expected.

I knew what it took to bring folks together in order to solve big challenges – I’d done it all throughout my career. Raising funds, hiring consultants, and navigating the insular world of politics, however, was an entirely foreign experience. Luckily, I was fortunate to find a support network in New Politics and their movement of servant leaders who were answering the call to serve again by running for office.

If we’re going to make government serve the people again, we need to elect leaders who know the true meaning of service. Split a donation between New Politics and my campaign now to help military veterans and service program alumni break into politics – and win.

There's work to be done.

In service,

Chrissy
