Remember Tuesday, November 4, 2008?

Remember what it felt like the night Barack Obama was elected President of the United States of America?

Barack Obama was inaugurated on Sunday, January 20, 2009.

Just nine days later, he signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law.

Back in 2009, the country was in an economic crisis, so the Democratic House and Democratic Senate passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which President Obama signed into law on February 17, 2009. On May 26, he nominated Justice Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. And on March 20, 2010, Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law.

Then on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, Democrats lost 6 seats in the Senate and a massive 63 seats in the House. The Tea Party controlled the Republican Party.

In 2012, Barack Obama won again, defeating Mitt Romney.

But on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, Democrats lost another 13 seats in the House and a devastating 9 seats in the Senate.

And on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, Donald J. Trump descended an escalator, called immigrants rapists (and very fine people), and then went on to defeat 16 other Republicans in the primary.

Donald J. Trump then went on to defeat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Election.

It was one of the worst nights of our political lives.

But then, you spoke out.

You marched.

You knocked on doors.

You donated.

And Democrats voted even though 2018 was an off-year.

And Democrats won.

Democrats took back the House in 2018 because we all stepped up together.

And then Democrats voted again in 2020, even though there was a global pandemic.

And Democrats won.

Democrats defeated Donald Trump and took back the Senate with the election of Senator Warnock and Senator Ossoff, both from Georgia. Because we all stepped up together.

Because When Democrats Turn Out, Democrats Win Elections.

But now, many are already writing off Democrats' chances in 2022:

New York Times : "Reeling from surprise losses, Democrats sound the alarm for 2022. Party officials say the White House and Congress must do more to address the electorate's deep malaise or risk watching voters lurch back toward the G.O.P. by default."

Bloomberg News : "Democrats confront wall of worries heading toward 2022 Elections. Biden's unpopularity, GOP districts and other problems await. Messaging from White House not capturing positive signs."

Washington Post : "Democrats are on course to lose in 2022 and 2024. If they do, we may lose our democracy."

Fellow Democrats: Conventional wisdom says Democrats will lose in 2022. The prognosticators and pundits (who have gotten it wrong so many times before) say Democrats will lose big time in 2022.

We say: Let's win.

We say: Let's win big.

We say: The 2022 Midterms are a year away, a lot can change in a year's time. Let's change it.

We say: Let's shape the future. Because the future of America depends on what we do together in the next 11 months.

The choice is between giving up, throwing in the towel, and letting an emboldened Mitch McConnell and Donald J. Trump take back control of America or stepping up as Democrats big time, defying history, and expanding Democrats' House and Senate Majorities in 2022.

Some people say who we elect doesn't matter. Some people say America is already a fake democracy and we can't do anything about it. We say that's all BS. And we're willing to work 60, or even 80 hours a week from today until Tuesday, November 8, 2022 if we have to.

We believe that the 2022 Midterm Elections are the most important elections of our lifetimes.

But we can't do it alone. Are you in?
