Dear neighbors,
As I embark on my fourth year as your State Senator, I want to thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime. I hope I’ve shown you just how much I love our people and our streets, and I’d be honored if you all give me two more years to continue working for you and working families all across New York. Come to our campaign launch on December 17!
We’ve made great progress just this past year:
- We secured $2.1B to #FundExcludedWorkers with more than $600,000 awarded to applicants helped by our constituent services team
- We updated the Unemployment Insurance system for part-time workers
- We expanded our human rights law to rightfully include Domestic Workers
- We made it easier for construction workers to fight wage theft and win
And in 2022, we'll keep tackling issues that matter to working families. This year we're fighting to:
- Expand universal access to high-quality child care for all New Yorkers, so our kids, parents and care providers are supported!
- Peg the minimum wage to inflation so low-wage workers can keep up with our soaring cost of living!
- Secure $3B to replenish the hugely successful Excluded Workers Fund program, and more!
Though we’re months away from Primary Day on June 28, we’re starting to get ready now! Once February rolls around, we’ll be hitting the streets getting signatures from fellow Democrats in the community so we can qualify for the ballot.
In the meantime, we need to raise funds to pay for materials and supplies, feed our volunteers, and communications outreach to all of our neighbors! So come hang out at one of my favorite places #SeenIn13.
Love and solidarity,
Jessica
