John -- In the wake of the most brazen and credible assault on abortion care in 50 years, official accounts for the Democratic party have been aflutter with tweeted demands that we codify Roe v. Wade.
That’s a great idea. So why haven’t they done it?
In case it bears repeating, Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. We don’t have to wait for a radicalized, right-wing, Trump-packed court to strike down abortion rights.
We can abolish the filibuster and cement those rights into federal law -- immediately putting an end to every state-level Republican-led attempt to ban abortion. It could be on President Biden’s desk TOMORROW if they so choose.
In fact, Democrats could have done this anytime in the 23 years during which they controlled both chambers of Congress over the last 48 years of Roe v. Wade.

That’s why Brand New Congress is helping Jessica Cisneros defeat Cuellar in the Democratic primary on March 1st. And why we’re backing three bold progressive Senate candidates to flip GOP seats.
Can you pitch in today to help us fight this right-wing assault on abortion care and get our candidates elected?

We’re sick of the stonewalling. We’re tired of the excuses.
Our message to members of Congress, regardless of party, is a simple one: Use your seat for good or LOSE your seat for good.
You can send that message loud and clear by pitching in now to help our candidates win their races. [[link removed]]

In 2020, we elected Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, and we helped Rashida Tlaib win a tough re-election fight.
We are building yet another strong slate of progressives for 2022. Pitch in today and join us as we take over Congress and return power to the people.
