Last week we emailed you about the Supreme Court holding oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to a Mississippi ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

We wanted to make sure you saw it, because this hearing has brought us to a crisis point in the fight for reproductive rights: Safe access to abortion is at stake for more than 36 million people in 26 states.

Our Democratic AGs are on the front lines fighting back against overreaching legislation like this abortion ban, and with bans like this potentially going into effect in multiple states, we need Dem AGs in office advocating for us more than ever before.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to a Mississippi law that bans abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy and is a major threat to the reproductive freedoms we are guaranteed by Roe v. Wade.

I won’t mince words, team. Access to abortion is in serious danger:

This Mississippi case has brought us to a crisis point in the fight for reproductive rights.

36 million women, (that’s nearly half of all women of reproductive age in the United States, and more people who can become pregnant) could lose access to safe and legal abortion entirely if the Supreme Court upholds this law. And it was alarming, though not surprising, that the majority of justices appeared prepared to allow politicians to control what we can do with our bodies.

Team, at this moment, more than ever before, we need to ensure that we have strong AGs in office who are fighting for our right to reproductive freedom.

Democratic Attorneys General believe that every person deserves the freedom to make their own decisions about their reproductive health and they are often our last line of defense against these extremist conservative attacks on our rights.

We need to act now. Please chip in whatever you can to make sure we have the resources we need to elect Dem AGs who will continue the fight for reproductive rights:
