For a lot of our students, this was their first semester on campus after a year of virtual learning. With all the detours life threw their way, they’ve made it to the halfway point of the school year! From vaccine mandates to weekly testing and reduced staff, it’s amazing to watch our youth be able to get through the term despite uncertainty and pressure. But our students are resilient. Moreover, they have Fulfillment Fund with them every step of the way.
They are able to overcome so much in their commitment to reaching their goals and earning their degrees. 75% of our students are English language learners, making it more challenging for them to do well academically in their non-native language. The vast majority of them come from lower-income households and are the first in their families to pursue a degree. Even with these challenges, they persevere.
We feel great pride and privilege to work with our students and watch them blossom into kind and successful professionals who also give back to the communities. In the words of our late founder, Dr. Gary Gitnick, recently shared by one of our alumni, “Once you’re part of Fulfillment Fund, you’re part of the family forever.”
