With early voting in our runoff election starting today, we've set an urgent fundraising goal of $8,000 to turn out as many voters as possible. Before I ask for your help, I'd like to explain what could happen if we fall short today.

My opponent, Eddie Rispone, doesn't just have millions in national GOP money supporting him. He's also spending millions of his own money in order to defeat me. He's trying to spend his way into the governor's mansion, and if he succeeds, he'll roll back all the progress we've made in the last four years.

If we're going to beat him, I need your help to build a stronger ground operation than Rispone has, so that we can turn out as many voters as possible before Election Day.

The stakes are so high, friends. We can't let Rispone send us back to the days of Bobby Jindal. But with millions of his own money and millions in national GOP money on his side, this is going to be a very close race. That's why funding our get-out-the-vote efforts is so important - and why we must hit our $8,000 goal.
