During the COVID-19 pandemic, the collapse of the child care sector coupled with remote learning has forced millions of moms and women caretakers out of the workforce.
Experts say this crisis may set gender equity back an entire generation.
The way childcare works in our country often leaves us with two options: families spend an exorbitant amount of their income on childcare, or parents cannot afford childcare and are home, down an income, and struggling.
We can make childcare affordable and accessible for all, and we can halt the impact on women the childcare crisis is having, but we need to act.
Will you stand with me to call for immediate action on the childcare crisis?
SIGN ON
As a mom, grandmother and the voice for millions of women across Illinois, this issue is personal to me, and I know American families deserve better. That’s why I was proud to stand beside my colleagues and vote
yes to the Build Back Better Act — the largest investment in child care in over 100 years.
Now, as the bill heads to the Senate, we must continue to use our voices and advocate for parents, families, and their children — all of which are affected by the childcare crisis in our country.
I believe our moment is here. Together, we can move our country forward.
Stand with American families and advocate for immediate action on the childcare crisis today >>
Thanks for stepping up,
