The Supreme Court appears poised to roll back reproductive rights for millions of Americans. Soon, the 6-3 conservative court will hand down its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization—a decision that will almost certainly undermine the Constitutional abortion protections established by Roe v. Wade nearly 50 years ago. 

To say that I’m outraged would be a serious understatement.

So what does this mean for Virginia? After last month’s Republican electoral victories, Virginia could be well on its way to a draconian abortion ban. This is why we must do everything we can to protect our one-seat Democratic Senate majority in 2023.

The fact that we still need to fight this hard for women’s reproductive rights nearly half a century after Roe v. Wade is infuriating. But it’s also a stark reminder that absolutely nothing can be taken for granted—even established law.
