Since Betsy DeVos was confirmed to lead the Department of Education, she has done nothing but undermine our public schools and make equal access to education more difficult.
She has rolled back protections for students with disabilities, survivors of sexual assault, students of color, and LGBTQ students. She has paved the way for guns to be allowed in our schools. And at every turn, she’s made it increasingly difficult for students to pay back crippling amounts of student loans.

In her latest betrayal of American students, Secretary DeVos repealed a protection barring schools from peddling useless degrees that leave graduates with no job prospects and mountains of debt.
DeVos has made it clear – once again – that she will stop at nothing to put predatory for-profit schools above the well-being of the students she’s supposed to protect. She is yet another cabinet secretary in the Trump administration that holds a financial stake in the industry she “regulates.”
