Recently, we changed our name from California League of Conservation Voters to California Environmental Voters.

Here’s why: Our mission since our founding in 1972 has evolved past solely focusing on conservation to include protecting the environment and fighting the climate crisis.

Science shows we have until 2030 to avoid major climate catastrophe. We know exactly how to avoid this, but we currently lack the political will to do it at the rate and scale that’s needed.

That’s why we’re focusing on building power across California by assembling a grassroots community of environmental voters to hold our leaders accountable and demand the change we urgently need.
