Taking Out the Leader of ISIS
The mission that took out ISIS leader al-Baghdadi is a major victory in America’s war against terror. I congratulate our military’s special operations force, as well as President Trump, for directing this raid that took out the head of ISIS.

Alexander Hamilton Warned About Partisan Impeachment
One of the authors of the Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton, warned of days like we've seen this week in the U.S. House of Representatives. Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats are proving Hamilton's point when he worried "there will always be the greatest danger that the impeachment decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt."
This week, House Democrats decided yet again to waste the House's time and resources on an unfair impeachment scheme, while ignoring bipartisan solutions on prescription drug pricing, the US-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement, the humanitarian crisis on our southern border, and funding our military.
Instead, a bipartisan vote was delivered this week against impeachment. Two Democrats joined every single Republican to vote no against their impeachment resolution. As Congress heads into another recess, the only significant vote the Democrats have to show their constituents is a bipartisan vote against their own impeachment resolution. It's time to end this charade and focus on solving real problems facing American families.
I spoke about this on the House Floor this week. You can watch my full remarks here.
Visiting with Constituents from Louisiana
I had the opportunity to meet with several constituents visiting Washington, D.C. from Louisiana this week. I always enjoy meeting constituents from back home on Capitol Hill and learning more about how I can best serve our community in Congress.

Honoring the Heroes of World War II
As we approach Veterans Day, it’s imperative to honor the heroes of America’s Armed Forces.
I recently introduced a bill to honor the 75th anniversary of the U.S. victory in World War II. This bill would create a commemorative coin to honor the heroes of World War II and all other Americans who contributed to the war effort. Any proceeds from the coin will be used to preserve the legacy of our veterans through the National World War II Museum, a proud New Orleans and national institution.
This week, I met with several House Members to promote my World War II Commemorative Coin bill. There are only two such coins designated each year, and the memory of our World War II veterans certainly deserves to be one of them. It is the least we can do to remember the important sacrifices these heroes made to defeat evil and to preserve freedom not just here at home, but to extend that torch of liberty to all who seek it around the world.
You can read more about the bill here.
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
God Bless,
Steve Scalise
