You have three Saturdays to vote! Head to an early voting location today from 8:30-6pm.
Early Voting Starts Today!
When you go to vote, remember that Governor John Bel Edwards has got our back! He worked with me to address resource needs for our city's aging drainage and water systems. He committed $50 million from the state to jump start infrastructure improvements. Meanwhile, Eddie Risponeopposes help for New Orleans and testified against our fair share for infrastructure in the legislature. Governor Edwards understands that when New Orleans does well the state does even better! We are the pearl and Louisiana is the oyster.
I’m also asking you to vote forCandace Newell if you live in State House District 99. She’s a woman with a get-it-done attitude and strong work ethic, just like me! Candace will be effective on day one as a former teacher with experience in the legislative Black caucus. We need her to win for us in Baton Rouge.
If you live in House District 98, I’m asking you to vote for Aimee Freeman to be our partner in the state legislature. Aimee is an experienced neighborhood leader whose focus has always been on making our city better. A longtime resident of District 98, like me, she cares deeply about its residents. As I have watched this election unfold, I have seen Aimee act with the same honesty, integrity, and concern that she has shown since the day we first met.
Lastly, remember to vote YES for all four ballot initiatives. The Ballot of Yes will help fund our fair share of infrastructure, maintenance, affordable housing, and add a Human Rights Commission to our city charter to protect our residents from discrimination.
