"Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners..."

- Psalm 144:7

Africa
- Thank God for the progress that has been made in the trial for the murder of IJM colleagues and a client in Kenya in June 2016. The trial is nearing the end of the prosecution phase, and the team is emotionally and physically exhausted. Pray for renewed energy as the trial resumes this week with the cross examination of the Chief Inspector who led the investigation into the disappearances. Pray for the trial to continue progressing smoothly, and for comfort for the families and friends of the deceased.
Latin America
- Please ask God to pour his grace over our El Salvador team as they lay the foundation to develop a new web-based learning resource center, which will enhance justice system officials' ability to serve victims of violence with the best trauma-informed response. Launched in collaboration with local grassroots organizations, this tool will help social workers, mental health professionals, victim advocates and lay counselors to ensure women and children survivors of violence who interact with the legal system are treated in the best way possible. South Asia
- Please pray for two teen girls whose mother was recently convicted for selling them for sex. This case highlights how poverty and the brokenness of families can be devastating for children — but also how justice can be served even in the darkest of circumstances. Praise God for the police, prosecutors and judges who handled this emotional case with great care, and pray for this mother as she begins a seven-year sentence in prison. Pray as well that these two teens will recover from their trauma and heal from the betrayal in their lives.

Southeast Asia
- Praise God for a recent arrest operation that has stopped a woman in the Philippines from live-streaming sexual abuse of children over the internet. She was caught after police in Australia apprehended a local man who was paying for the child abuse material. Police also rescued a 12-year-old girl who was being exploited. Please pray for ongoing investigations in this case, and for strong aftercare support for this young girl now that she's finally safe.
