Photo: Joy Asico Let's build the world we long to see Dear John,
Supporters like you have helped us respond after natural disasters, food shortages, and violent conflict. You’ve joined us in acting boldly to transform unjust policies. And you’ve supported us in working tirelessly for the day when people worldwide are protected from this pandemic.
Examples of what your gift will support include:
Advocating for global vaccine access: Billions of people around the world lack access to COVID-19 vaccines. A temporary waiver on intellectual property rights would let more countries mass-produce them. We worked with partners to win President Biden's support. But there is still much work to be done—and quickly—to help end the pandemic and save lives. With your help, we will keep advocating for global vaccine access.
Providing pandemic relief: Everyone should be able to meet basic needs. AFSC 's New Mexico program is one of several helping to put food on people’s tables. We're also supporting tenants organizing in Atlanta to keep people in their homes. And we've delivered hygiene kits and masks to help people stay safe from Guatemala to Gaza, Indonesia, and Zimbabwe. Your support helps sustain vital efforts like these.
Supporting migrants seeking safety: Migrants fleeing dangerous conditions should be welcome to apply for asylum. But thousands are stuck in overcrowded shelters or temporary camps. AFSC provides critical support to migrants at each stage of their journey. We also support immigrant organizing efforts in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, and other states. Recent successes are changing local and state immigration policies for the better. We need your help to build on these wins!
There is still much to be done to build the more equitable, more peaceful world we long to see. But with you by our side, I know we can make a difference in the year ahead.
Your generosity makes so much possible! Please make your tax-deductible donation today.
In peace, Joyce Ajlouny
