Biden Administration Joins Fight Against Texas Maps

• The Biden Administration’s Department of Justice claims new voting boundaries for Congress and the Texas House discriminate against Latino and black voters. As Erin Anderson reports, Democrats in the DOJ claim Texas Republicans intentionally discriminated against protected classes of voters when drawing new voting boundaries.
      
• A legal battle over voting district lines could potentially delay Texas’ 2022 primary elections, which are currently slated for March 1.

GOP Voters Will Have 10 Ballot Questions In Primary

• In addition to candidates for elected office, Republican voters will get a chance to sound off on 10 issue-oriented ballot propositions. Jeramy Kitchen explains that the propositions help guide the party’s policy priorities and provide direction to lawmakers interested in representing their constituents.

Cucci: Frisco Is Stonewalling Parents

• The Frisco Independent School District is stonewalling parents by stalling the release of information, writes Andrew Cucci.
  
  “Families 4 Frisco, a parent-led PAC, has experienced numerous instances of difficulty, obfuscation, and evasion regarding their members’ [Public Information Requests],” explains Cucci.
   
• The school district – like many others – is abusing the state’s Public Information Act, using tactics recommended by the Texas Association of School Boards.

• Texas Scorecard is excited to announce a new multimedia series called Exposed – each season will be a deep dive on stories the cronies and establishment players don’t want told.

Scorecard Is Growing!

Texas Scorecard has three positions open in our central Texas office. 

• Development Associate: focus on data-driven tasks and responsibilities to support our non-profit organization’s fundraising efforts. Successful applicants will need to be diligently organized and exhibit strong follow-through on tasks and goals.
     
• Administrative Assistant: duties will include managing onsite event logistics, receiving guests and vendors, and a variety of other tasks necessary to managing the office and supporting our operations.
     
• Social Media Manager: responsible for executing all internal social media marketing and communications via traditional and emerging social media channels, as well as occasional social media-based projects.

Because of the National School Board Association’s hostility towards parents and its embrace of leftist ideologies, numerous states’ school board associations have withdrawn their membership. The Texas Association of School Boards, however, has refused to leave the national group – using funds local school boards paid in from local property taxes that in turn paid the national dues.

Should local school board members be pressured to leave TASB?

On Dec. 7, 1941, Japanese forces attacked Pearl Harbor – an action that drew the United States officially into World War II. Waco’s Doris Miller was serving as a mess attendant on the USS West Virginia when he courageously manned the ship’s antiaircraft guns during the attack. For his heroism, he was presented the Navy Cross. Doris Miller was killed at the battle of the Gilbert Islands in 1943.
