Wisconsin Supreme Court to Adopt Maps Without Considering Partisanship, Seeking "Least Changes"

The Wisconsin Supreme Court issued an opinion in Johnson v. WEC, a WILL redistricting case, that adopts criteria for the redistricting process. The decision from the Wisconsin Supreme Court adopts WILL’s proposal that the Court not consider political partisanship when approving new legislative districts, and will seek to make the “least changes” from the current maps.
Gov. Evers Vetoes Legislation to Provide Parents with Access to Classroom Materials

Governor Tony Evers vetoed curriculum transparency legislation (SB 463/ AB 488), Friday, denying parents access to the classroom materials in our public schools. WILL supported the legislation to require all public schools to publicly provide access to the material taught in our public-school classrooms.
Wisconsin's State Report Card in Urgent Need of Reform

A new WILL policy brief highlights why the various elements of the state report card intended to address persistent achievement gaps serve to create a scenario where schools with high numbers of low-income students can earn a passing grade, “Meets Expectations,” with academic proficiency rates of 10% or less.

WILL is looking for a passionate and entrepreneurial Associate Counsel to join our litigation team to further our K-12 and education reform efforts. The Associate Counsel will work closely with the litigation team and the Director of Education Policy in researching and litigating a wide range of K-12 education issues, primarily in Wisconsin, to empower parents, expand educational options and hold government accountable.

WILL is looking for a highly organized, energetic individual with excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel). The perfect candidate will have between 6 months - 3 years in a development or administrative role (internships can count towards experience). The development assistant will provide support to the development team and help reach out to donors. Help communicate WILL's mission to others!
