The “season of giving” may be upon us, yet there are those among us that are determined to make it the “season of taking” – from the smash and grabs that have occurred in many urban areas of the country to the horrific school shooting in Michigan. Taking lives – or taking property – the respect for human life seems at an all-time low, and the Left is using tragedies to push an agenda that hits home with GOC. Stirring the emotional pot oftentimes gets them exactly what they want. Yet, in the face of this horrible event, the Oakland County Sheriff was asked about the possibility of gun legislation. He said “I believe the surest way to get a handle on holding people accountable when they’re doing things illegally with a gun is to punish them, and that’s not happening in many communities across America today.” We agree.
