The Hawai’i Republican Party extends its deepest condolences to the family of Senator Robert Dole. His service to our country on the battlefields of World War II to serving as a member of Congress enabled the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. His devotion and support for disabled Veterans insured the passage of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Hawaii’s military community will miss his leadership.
“I worked as security on Air Force One during Ronald Reagan’s presidency and had the honor of meeting both Senator Bob Dole and his wife, Secretary of Labor, Elizabeth Dole. Senator Bob Dole was a true American hero. His example has left a big imprint on my life,” said Daniel Caluya, Hawai’i Republican Party Member and retired Air Force Veteran.
“A true statesman, Senator Bob Dole was very special to me and a big supporter of all of my efforts. We respected each other’s opinions. I really feel honored to know him and will truly miss him,” said Congresswoman Pat Saiki.
With Sympathy,
Lynn Finnegan
