Hello,

This week's edition will discuss why you need to be articulate, fixing infrastructure and environment, and how women select men.

Be Articulate

The best way to teach people critical thinking is to teach them to write. Because there's no difference between that and thinking.

One of the things that blows me away about universities is that no one ever tells students why they should write something. "Well, why are you writing?" "Well, you need the grade." It's like, no! You need to learn to think because thinking makes you act effectively in the world. Thinking makes you win the battles you undertake - and those could be battles for good things. If you can think, speak, and write, you are absolutely deadly.

Nothing can get in your way. So that's why you learn to write. And if you can formulate your arguments coherently, and make a presentation, if you can speak to people, if you can lay out a proposal. People give you money; they give you opportunities; you have influence. That's what you're at university for. Be articulate. Because that's the most dangerous thing, you can possibly be.

Monday Reflections

"Can you imagine yourself in 10 years if, instead of avoiding the things you know you should do, you actually did them every single day? That’s powerful." (Share this on Twitter)

"Work as hard as you possibly can on at least one thing and see what happens." (Share this on Twitter)

"You might be winning but you’re not growing, and growing might be the most important form of winning." (Share this on Twitter)

This Week On The Podcast

Fix This: Infrastructure and Environment | The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast - S4E64: Gregg Hurwitz and Rick Geddes

This episode was recorded on November 9th, 2021.

Jordan Peterson, Gregg Hurwitz, and Rick Geddes meet to discuss the debate surrounding the Current multi-billion dollar infrastructure Bill currently on the table for a vote in the US congress.

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson:

"The idea that it's just power that drives people to the top of organizations just isn't true because if it were, we would have many more psychopaths, and they would be way more successful."

Gregg Hurwitz:

“It seems like we can get very little sane discussion in the media on the role that regulation plays in building a renewing infrastructure."

Rick Geddes:

"There has always been, across sectors, this goal of everybody having the same access to services, and that's what infrastructure is all about."

How Women Select Men (Natural Selection) | Jordan B. Peterson

Dr. Peterson:

"The females seem to be using some marker or some set of markers as a proxy indicator for health.

Reasonably, you could say that male human beings do the same thing to female human beings and vice versa. For example, we [human beings] evaluate each other for symmetry which is one of the elements of beauty because healthier people tend to be more symmetrical. "
