John –
Last week, we witnessed another community change forever after a gunman entered a high school in Michigan and killed four people. But despite tragedy after tragedy, our legislators still have not acted in the interests of the safety of our country.
What’s worse? Some lawmakers are making a mockery of safe storage and weapons of mass destruction.
John, you know as well as I do that our country’s gun violence epidemic is far more than a punchline. We are talking about lives – about family members who will be missing from Christmas cards because they were gunned down.
In fact, safe storage could not be more serious: 75% of school shooters get their gun because the firearm is not stored locked and unloaded in a home. The deadly implications of irresponsible gun ownership go even further, in gun suicides and unintentional shootings.
It’s far past time to take responsible gun ownership seriously, it’s for action that we know will save lives. You’re one of our dedicated advocates, John, and I’m counting on you to add your name today. Will you add your name – we still need 35 more people from your area – and and tell your representative that we need common sense safe storage laws NOW.
The inaction of our lawmakers is egregious, particularly when we know exactly what we can do to prevent more death and destruction. The gunman used a weapon that he would’ve not otherwise been able to obtain, and he got his hands on a deadly weapon because his parents did not safely store it in their home. I need you to join our call for a safer country right now:

Thank you, John.
