Read on to learn more about the seventh artist we are spotlighting...

Dear John,

Three weeks ago, we launched our first-ever NIAC Community Artist Series! This week, we’re highlighting one artist to showcase our appreciation for the singers, dancers, and musicians that are celebrating what it means to be Iranian American through art.

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to our seventh artist spotlight: Sarvin Haghighi!

Sarvin Haghighi is an Iranian-American visual artist based in Chicago. Sarvin uses her art to change the negative narrative of Iranians that the media portrays and to bridge the gap between Iranians and Americans. Sarvin is well known in Chicago for her 'Ishq ("love") murals, written in Persian calligraphy, mixed media, and installations across Chicago. Read all about Sarvin and her work in our latest blog post >

Thank you again for joining us in celebrating community artists. The pandemic hit the arts industry very hard, yet artists like Sarvin have continued to create and bring us all beauty and connection through her work during this dark time.

Sincerely,

Donna Farvard
