Redistricting is still underway, so while we don’t know the exact makeup of the district Katie will run in or who our opponent will be, we do know that Orange County will be a tough place for Democrats to win in 2022.
- In a recent poll, 52% of Orange County area voters said they disapprove of President Biden—a concerning trend for Democrats.
- In 2020, two Orange County districts that Democrats won in 2018 flipped back to Republican control.
- Compared to the rest of the state, Orange County voters were much more likely to vote to recall Governor Gavin Newsom in November’s election. While our state may be blue, Orange County is historically red and this whole area is still in play for either party.
