BREAKING NEWS: Filing for the U.S. House, North Carolina Senate, and North Carolina House has been halted by the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Folks,

We have an urgent development in our race -- but before we dive into the details, let’s unpack how we got here:

FIRST: North Carolina Republicans passed new congressional maps, shamelessly gerrymandering our state’s districts for their own political gain.

THEN: Multiple lawsuits were filed by civil rights groups asking for the maps to be rejected for silencing the voices of thousands of North Carolinians and for fair maps to be drawn.

NOW: The North Carolina Court of Appeals has halted candidate filing in the U.S. House, state House, and state Senate districts until they rule on the maps.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?: This means the North Carolina Court of Appeals will consider the constitutionality of the maps any day now. If the maps change, we could see Republican extremist Cawthorn move back into our district.

This is an all-hands-on-deck situation, so we’ve set a rapid response goal of $10,000. Please, rush a donation of $25 or whatever you can to help us meet this moment with a surge of grassroots donations.
