We Won a Shorty Award!

We’re proud to announce that our 2020 #ThxBirthControl campaign won silver in this year’s Shorty Impact Awards. The Short Awards is an international awards competition that honors organizations creating the best social media and digital content in their field.

Access to Birth Control Act Reintroduced in Congress

Last month, Senator Booker and Representative Maloney reintroduced the Access to Birth Control Act. This bill ensures that no one is refused birth control or related medications at a pharmacy. Power to Decide is one of fifty organizations that endorsed the bill.

Updated State Contraceptive Landscape Fact Sheets

We recently updated our contraceptive landscape fact sheets for Illinois and Iowa, based on our latest clinic data. You can find all of our state contraceptive landscape fact sheets here. Be sure to check back later this month as we’ll be publishing new ones for Indiana and Oregon.

New Birth Control Materials Available

For more than two decades, Power to Decide has been recognized for our effective communications work and research-based materials that are both authoritative and accessible. We have partnered with numerous organizations over the years, and most recently we teamed up with the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). We surveyed ACR experts and reviewed professional recommendations on reproductive health for people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases to understand the key considerations for birth control, including emergency contraception.

Based on our results we created multiple resources for health care providers to use when counseling people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases as well as an article for consumers on their birth control options.
