Dear Friend!
Everything we are working toward in 2022 depends on protecting access to the ballot box for millions of Black, Brown, and working people who showed up last year to oust the most divisive President of our lifetime.
This is not hard. So Why are we playing games with voting rights?
Numerous activist groups have held demonstrations demanding the Senate pass critical legislation to protect voters from race-based discrimination and set minimum standards to enable all voters to experience free and fair elections.
Bold leaders like Ben Jealous, President of The People for the American Way, and Co-Founders LaTosha Brown and Cliff Albright of Black Voters Matter have consistently and tirelessly organized around the country and in our nation’s capital on these important issues.
Congress must pass this important legislation that protects and expands voting rights before the approaching holiday recess. Here are some ways you can help keep up the pressure and demand voting rights protections now.
Wednesday, December 8th the Black Women Leaders & Allies Freedom Walk for Voting Rights and Economic Justice will convene under the leadership of Melanie Campbell, President of the National Coalition of Black Civic Participation!
We need you there to urge Congress to end the filibuster and protect our voting rights. Register here.
The activism continues with the incomparable Reverend Barber and the Poor People’s Campaign for a Moral Monday March on Washington, DC on December 13th at 12pm ET to tell Congress: Get It Done in 2021! Sign up to learn more.
We cannot elect a Congress that reflects the people, if voter suppression exists.
If you are not in the DC area, we still need your voice.
The Senate must deliver even if that means delaying recess. Call your Senator today and tell them to stop playing games with our voting rights 1.888.453.3211.
Thank you for being in the fight to pressure Congress to pass voting rights protections and the Build Back Better plan before the end of the year.
DONATE TODAY AND DEMAND VOTING RIGHTS NOW
In Solidarity,
Nina Turner
