John,

Last month Hank voted to pass the Build Back
Better Act in the House of Representatives, taking a significant
step toward the most significant clean energy investment in
America’s history.

Analysts say this bill could lower our country’s
greenhouse gas pollution by about a billion tons of carbon
dioxide by 2030, the equivalent of taking all the cars in the
U.S. off the road for one year.

Before we go into how we’re going to do this,
please consider contributing $5 or more today to keep climate
champions like Hank Johnson in Congress.

So, what’s in the bill? Here’s a breakdown of some
of the most critical climate actions:
* Hundreds of billions in tax incentives for wind,
solar and nuclear power, speeding up a transition away from
relying on fossil fuels.
* Up to $12,500 in tax credits for electric vehicle purchases.
* $1 billion to build a network of electric vehicle charging
stations across the country.
* We’re investing $2.9 billion in the electrical grid and
modernizing it to better transmit wind and solar power.
* $12.5 billion in rebates for energy-efficient appliance
purchases.
* $29 billion for a “green bank” program to help communities
finance renewable energy projects.

Republicans have blocked climate legislation for
years, continuously obstructing ways to fight the climate crisis.
Just passing it out of the House despite Republican opposition,
is a historic moment for climate action.

But there’s absolutely no guarantee Build Back
Better will pass the Senate, and despite large investments
proposed by the House, we’re still going to need to do more to
defeat the climate crisis.

If you believe that we need to keep up the fight
against climate change, will you contribute today to keep climate
champions like Hank Johnson in Congress?
