Dear Reader,
PublicSource thrives on the power of conversation.
We believe journalism should be a two-way street. Many of our stories come from our readers, and we cherish the opportunity to meaningfully interact with Pittsburghers; there’s always more to know about this city. Those talks lead to our best work — journalism that drives change in policy and mindsets. Simple conversations with our neighbors have led to essays, podcast episodes, shifts in newsroom thinking and whole investigative projects that untangle years-old community issues.
We’re even creating new ways to connect with you, to foster new conversations and build on old ones. We’re building an audience team, creating newsletters you look forward to seeing, revamping our events and telling stories in new compelling ways.
I’m proud to be part of a newsroom that values the perspectives of the community it serves and asks itself each day: How can we better serve the community? What resources can we create to help Pittsburghers live better?
PublicSource is unique because we’re constantly working to better connect with you online and offline. We want to meet you where you are. We want to hear and answer your unanswered questions.
To chase down what you need takes dedication, time and financial support from our community members who are able to give. Not everyone who needs this community connection can afford to pay for it. If you can, we’re relying on you.
Please support a mission that matters and help fund another year of journalism that unearths wrongdoing, connects dots and explores the depths of our community. Your donation helps fund our efforts to deepen our relationship with Pittsburgh and produce thoughtful service journalism that’s useful for our community. And right now, your support goes even further: all one-time gifts are DOUBLED and new recurring gifts are matched x12.
Make a MATCHED gift to support people-powered journalism. ([link removed])
Thank you.
Sincerely,
