We can’t leave the future of abortion rights up to the conservative-majority Supreme Court.
Hi John, I wanted to be sure that you saw this:
Earlier this week, the Supreme Court began hearing arguments on yet another restrictive abortion ban: this time, a law from Mississippi that bans abortion after 15 weeks.
What makes this case different is that this is the most consequential debate on abortion rights since Roe v. Wade that could alter the future of reproductive freedom.
Instead of leaving it up to the Supreme Court — which includes a pair of far-right justices rammed through by the Trump administration after Mitch McConnell helped steal a seat — my colleagues in the House and I took matters into our own hands by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act, which codifies Roe and the right to safe, legal abortions.
I’m one of the 1-in-4 women who’ve had an abortion, and I know we absolutely cannot return to an era before Roe. Thank you for speaking up with me as we fight for the future of reproductive justice.
