Right now, there are countless bills — supported by a majority of Americans — that would save lives and protect democracy but that are stalled in the Senate. From voting rights to codifying Roe v. Wade into law — these are serious issues that demand immediate solutions at the federal level.

But the solutions are currently being blocked in the Senate, solely because of the filibuster. The filibuster is a relic of the Jim Crow era — one that’s been weaponized by Mitch McConnell and national Republicans to keep commonsense legislation from passing.

It’s time to eliminate the filibuster. Add your name if you agree.

Time and time again, the bills that we pass in the House go to the Senate to die because of the filibuster. As a result, we can’t deliver on our promises and Americans suffer.

At a time when our democracy is imperiled, we need urgent responses. If we’re going to act on the issues that matter to a majority of Americans — including codifying Roe and passing the Women’s Health Protection Act — the Senate must eliminate the filibuster.
