[email protected] Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on the Passing of Senator Bob Dole December 5, 2021 “We have lost a true, American icon. Senator Bob Dole dedicated his life to public service and working to make life better for Americans every single day. A World War II veteran, who earned two purple hearts and a bronze star, and was left for dead on the battlefield, was the very embodiment of the grit and determination that defined the Greatest Generation. "A son of Kansas, Dole was a Member of the House of Representatives, a Senator, and the longest serving Senate Republican Leader in history when he resigned. In a symbol of Bob Dole's importance to the Republican Party, he was our Vice-Presidential candidate in 1976 and twenty years later our Presidential nominee. "Following his distinguished political career, he dedicated himself to raising money for the World War II memorial in Washington, DC and then spent weekends there welcoming visitors and speaking with veterans. "Senator Bob Dole was a great legislator and Republican and an even better man, whose positive impact on Americans is indelible. Erin and I offer our deepest condolences to his family." ### New York Republican State Committee | 315 State Street, Albany, NY 12210 Unsubscribe
