Friend -- We need to have a conversation about partisan gerrymandering and voting rights.

Our system is broken -- and gerrymandered statehouses are taking advantage of that to undermine our democracy.

Will you join me and A.G. Holder, along with our friends Ben Affleck and Tracee Ellis Ross, to discuss how we can go on offense for our democracy?

I believe ending partisan gerrymandering is one of the most important battles in the fight to preserve our democracy -- and essential to the work we’re doing to restore and expand voting rights.

We’re witnessing a pattern. There are politicians who want to stay in power at any cost. That cost is always at the expense of voters -- and in states like Texas and Georgia, it's indisputably at the expense of communities of color.

When these politicians think they will lose the support of their constituents, their instinct is to manipulate maps and obstruct voting -- rather than be relentless advocates for the things their community cares about.

This is a systemic problem. And it will not change unless people like us demand change and accountability.

Recently, I was talking with A.G. Holder and we realized we’ve been having similar conversations -- people keep asking us how they can take direct action to make our democracy stronger. And that’s why we’ve decided to gather activists from Onward Together and All On The Line to discuss how we can further build this movement.
