This year we saw bad information deepen distrust in our democracy, damage our communities, and threaten to prolong the pandemic.
But our supporters make a real difference. Can you join them, and help make sure there are consequences for those who mislead people with bad information in 2022?
Yes, I’ll donate £5 a month ([link removed])
I'd prefer to give a one-off donation ([link removed])
Enough is enough. In the last twelve months we’ve seen sensationalist reporting about Covid-19 spread across our media, and disputed rumours about the safety of vaccines even made their way into Parliamentary debate.
Luckily, thousands of people across the UK agreed we all deserve better this year. They helped make sure we could correct the record on BBC Radio 4, and in the Guardian, the Sun, Hansard, the Economist and more. They’ve even helped us clear up public communications, reducing the number of people who share false information about vaccines.
Friend, we’ve made some amazing headway in the fight against bad information. Just imagine what could happen if we all stood together for change.
If every one of our subscribers who opens this email (including you) gives just £5 a month, that would help keep independent fact checking going for a whole year.
That’s 365 days of:
* Scrutinising misleading and false claims in public debate
* Challenging errors and correcting the record
* Fighting for laws that support honesty and accuracy
As someone who's read our newsletter this year, would you be willing to give up the price of two coffees to help achieve a more honest 2022?
Yes, I’ll give £5 a month ([link removed])
Yes, I’ll give another monthly amount ([link removed])
I'd prefer to give a one-off donation ([link removed])
Thank you for standing with us,
Jessica - Supporter Communications Manager
