John,
This is a long, but important email about how I was inspired to run for Congress. Please take a moment to read it, then consider chipping in $3 to my campaign to unseat Kevin McCarthy.

I grew up in a small working class town in California. My dad was a teacher, and my mom was a secretary. They worked hard, but always made time for family.
At first, my parents couldn't afford to send me to university -- so I started at community college instead. Like many students, I paid my way through school by working part time.
I wanted to be a teacher to give back to my community. After 20 years, it's clear that opportunities to thrive for many families are being cut short by politicians like Kevin McCarthy. He's represented us for nearly 15 years with NOTHING to show for it except trying to advance his own career.
I hear stories from my kiddos and their parents about the challenges they face -- while they work harder, wages stagnate and the ultra-wealthy are getting richer and richer.
Heck, my family has had our fair share of struggles, but like many families here in the Central Valley, you just learn to deal. It's unacceptable that our current representative is doing so much to make things actively worse for our community. That's just not how we do things around here.
I'm stepping up to run for Congress because I can't take Kevin McCarthy's blatant disregard for our community any longer, and I'm asking you to join me:
We're coming up $9,301 short of our weekly goal to DEFEAT Kevin McCarthy. That means we need to see A TON of supporters chipping in a grassroots donation before 11:59 pm tonight. Can you kick in $3 today to help us meet the mark?
