Hi
John,
Breast Cancer Action will be bringing our independent, watchdog perspective to the largest annual breast cancer conference in the world.
Every December, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) brings together both researchers and clinical practitioners to present and discuss the latest research and practices.
BCAction attends this conference each year on behalf of people living with and at risk of breast cancer to see past the hype and provide a critical, patient-centered take.
Although this conference is traditionally held in person, this year will be done in the hybrid model, both in person and virtually starting Tuesday, December 7, through Friday, December 10. And throughout the four days of SABCS, we will attend sessions, workshops, and debates, and deliver our critical analysis to ensure the important questions are uplifted in a space where medical jargon, unfamiliar acronyms, and big pharma profit can too often take center stage.
We are looking forward to attending a variety of different sessions that cover subjects such as: shifts in standards of care in the face of COVID-19, risk scores, assessment, and reduction, and equity of racial and ethnic groups in clinical trials, and so much more.
Whether you are attending SABCS or just want to stay in the know, be sure to follow us on Twitter (@BCAction) so you don’t miss our rapid response take on the issues. And keep a look out throughout the week and after the conference for blogs from our Executive Director, Dr. Krystal Redman and Program Manager, Jayla Burton analyzing what was presented. You can review our past writings on SABCS here ([link removed]) .
Are you attending SABCS this year? Let us know so we can keep in contact and have the chance to “visit” even in the virtual space.
In solidarity,
Tibby Reas Hinderlie
Communications Manager (she/her)
