Dr. Mutulu Shakur, a Black revolutionary, renowned acupuncturist, and longtime political prisoner, has been held in federal prison for 35 years. Mutulu is now 71 years old and his life is threatened by multiple myeloma. He is receiving treatment at FCI-Lexington Prison, a maximum security federal prison notorious for its abuses, control units, and holding of political prisoners.
The converging crises of the Covid-19 pandemic and imprisonment necessitate that we act with urgency as our elders face exponential hazards in prisons, jails and detention centers. In 2021 and into 2022, we invite you to fight harder than ever to ensure the freedom of all those who are locked up for devoting their lives to the struggle.
We encourage you to take action, organize your community, and learn more information about Dr. Shakur’s current condition and the campaign for his immediate release.
Immediate release is critical to save Mutulu’s life. Living with his family, he will be able to access nutritional foods, supplemental modalities of treatment and care, and most importantly — he will be able to experience human touch and receive love. Please support this campaign for immediate release for Dr. Mutulu Shakur.
Free Dr. Mutulu Shakur, all political prisoners, and all people from cages!
