Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 41 | December 4th, 2021 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! Dear John, Democrats are once again trying to circumvent New York voters and rig elections by unilaterally allowing over 800,000 non-citizens to vote in New York City. This is perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever, and that's really saying something. This radical legislation is unconstitutional, un-American, and downright dangerous. It will not only undermine the credibility of local city elections but undoubtedly jeopardize the integrity of state and national elections across New York State. Democrats do not get to create their own brand of citizenship to manipulate elections. On Thursday, we stood outside City Hall with Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli to ensure our voices are heard loud and clear: We will take every legal action necessary to stop this totally illegal and unconstitutional attack on our election integrity. Meanwhile, New Yorkers go another week without justice when it comes to Andrew Cuomo's criminal activity. On top of the numerous federal, state, and local investigations into his many wrongdoings, we recently found out that taxpayers are footing the bill for his legal defense to the tune of $23 million. His partner in crime Kathy Hochul and the Democrats in the Legislature remain totally silent and complicit. Time to make him pay up and they can start with the $5 million he stole from New Yorkers on the backs of dying seniors with his crooked book deal! Sincerely, Nick Langworthy NYGOP Chairman Poll of the Week: Chairman Nick Langworthy wants to hear from you! The bill, if it becomes law, would allow more than 800,000 non-citizen residents to vote, according to the New York Times. "I thought we’d seen it all from Democrats in this state," Langworthy said, calling the push to allow non-citizens to vote "perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever." The party chairman said that Democrats have already made New York City a sanctuary city and provided illegal aliens a number of benefits, and that this new bill "was always the next step in the left’s plan to radically transform American for the worse." Langworthy claimed the bill violates the U.S. and New York State Constitutions, stating that voting "is expressly reserved for citizens of the United States of America." Andrew M. Cuomo, according to newly updated documents posted by the state comptroller's office. The records indicate at least $8.3 million has already been spent. Read Full Here City Council’s non-citizen voting plan shows the far-left’s contempt for New York’s electorate New York Post Op-Ed by NYC Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli Four years ago, newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron made a triumphant return to New York City, where he had courted votes from French expatriates nearly a year earlier. “Reviens! — Come back!” he told his constituents gathered at the 92nd Street Y, a plea met mostly with shrugs. Why should they go back? They have everything they need right here: lower taxes, extensive city services and — like most expats in America — they can still vote for president and the local officials in their ville de naissance in France. And soon, when lame-duck progressives in the City Council get their way, they will also be able to help decide who governs New York City. A bill to allow noncitizens to vote is poised to be pushed through the council next month. Suffice to say, it will profoundly transform elections in New York City as we know them.
