Africa & Europe
Pray for court cases in Kenya that have been continually delayed due to COVID-19. Please pray for successful conclusions, for justice to be served and for the survivors to be released from fear and able to fully heal.
Latin America
Join the IJM Dominican Republic Team in prayer for the Public Ministry’s Specialized Anti-Trafficking Unit. This unit has been struggling to initiate investigations in trafficking cases because the team is shorthanded. As a result, they have only been investigating a small number of cases identified by other institutions. Pray for the right people to be recruited for the Anti-Trafficking Unit so more cases can begin to be investigated on a broader scale.
South Asia
Praise God for a recent conviction in a sex trafficking case from 2015! In this case, IJM supported local authorities after they proactively rescued a minor girl and arrested one trafficker. IJM was then able to take on a support role and watch these well-trained officials take the lead. The police, prosecutors and judge were all sensitive to the victim throughout the trial and remained focused on securing justice—leading to a strong 10-year sentence! We are so grateful for these compassionate authorities who are helping protect thousands of girls from being abused.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for survivor leaders training new survivors in the Local Survivor Network (LSN) Curriculum Pilot Training in the Philippines! The LSN Pilot Training for survivors of online sexual exploitation of children was conducted via a hybrid online and on-site training by IJM Cebu Aftercare with LSN-SMART (Survivors Mentoring and Advocating for Restorative Transformation). A total of seven survivors completed the three-day training led by our very own SMART survivor leaders. Aside from facilitating the discussion, the four SMART survivor leaders also shared their insights and journey in becoming leaders and advocates.
