DEMOCRATS AND RINOS KICK THE CAN AGAIN
As Democrat Appropriations Chair Rosa DeLauro said publicly that this stop-gap funding is “to build pressure for an omnibus” bill, self-proclaimed “negotiators” Roy Blunt and Mitch McConnell have been duped into believing that they made a major accomplishment, by keeping the swamp full without a plan. In reality, they are providing the Democrats with more time to push through the Socialist Build Back Better spending plan. Maybe they have Stockholm Syndrome.
H.R. 6119, The Further Extending Government Funding Act, is deja vu, except worse. This repeated history of Democrats creating an artificial ‘deadline’ for a bill’s passage has been moved to a later date AGAIN, with the aid of RINOs. Remember the budget deadline being moved to September? How about it being moved to December? Well now, February 18th is the latest artificial deadline.
Many of my Republican colleagues agree with me – this was an opportunity to negotiate with the Democrats, encouraging them to do away with this unconstitutional federal vaccine mandate. Another bargaining chip could have been a pathway to solving the inflation crisis. Reauthorizing the Keystone XL pipeline, which Joe Biden cancelled on his first day in office, would increase the U.S. oil supply to offset the inflationary gas prices, as OPEC treats the Biden presidency identically to the energy crisis presidency of Jimmy Carter.
While Americans bear the burden of increased costs across the board, Democrats won’t come to the table with House Republicans—the ones who put Americans First—to pass a budget based in reality.

Wednesday’s Judiciary Subcommittee hearing featured a Democrat witness, Jacqui Patterson, who previously made a racist Covid joke. To my surprise, Patterson’s toxic rhetoric has not suffered the thrall of cancel culture, nor did the Democrats seem to care. The double standard of cancel culture is real, as it is with spreading alleged misinformation.

$100 MILLION BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD
On Thursday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced crucial state budget news about the Florida National Guard and re-establishing a Florida State Guard civilian volunteer force.
Speaking at the Pensacola National Guard Armory, DeSantis announced that he is “recommending $100 million to support our National Guard to ensure they have the means necessary to carry out their mission — whether that be the federal functions that they can do overseas, whether that's supporting disaster recovery and relief operations in Florida. Across the board, when we need help, we have the Guard there for us." I’m proud to have a governor who is behind Florida’s armed services at all times and is organizing his budget the right way.
Here are the specific provisions in the budget proposal:
- $87.5 million to expand the Florida National Guard's existing readiness center in Miramar and build three new Florida National Guard armories across the state that would house up to 1,500 guardsmen.
- $8.9 million to bolster maintenance at existing armories across the state.
- $2.2 million to support the Florida National Guard's counter-drug program.
- $5.1 million to support Florida National Guard members who are seeking higher education so they can better support themselves and their families while pursuing their academic ambitions.
- $3.6 million to improve Florida National Guard bases' infrastructure and other projects
