| | Historic Day for the Pro-Life Movement at the U.S. Supreme Court On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments from the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case. To listen to the oral arguments, click here. Texas Values were there at the U.S. Supreme Court in D.C. for the hearing, advocating and supporting for the lives of the pre-born along with many national and state pro-life organizations. Texas Values advocated for the preborn in every single media interview they did by educating and informing listeners of the truth about the science and the law regarding abortion. It is hard to believe that the U.S. is one of only 6 countries that still allow abortions until the day of birth, joining the ranks of China and North Korea. The U.S. Supreme Court Justices not only have the chance to uphold Mississippi’s Gestational Age Act, that would ban abortions after 15 weeks, but the Justices also have an opportunity to overturn Roe v. Wade. Since 1973, there have been about 63 million preborn babies killed in the U.S. by abortion. The tide is turning and the Texas Heartbeat Law has dramatically increased the pro-life momentum, as the Texas Heartbeat Law has now saved over 14,000 reborn babies in Texas from abortion. There is so much hope! Continue to pray for the Justices and we await their decision, which will most likely come out in June 2022. For more information on the Dobbs case, visit this website. Texas Values was able to not only be interviewed but to also interview other national and state coalition groups. | | | | Senate Bill 4, authored by Texas State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr., passed during the 2021 Texas Second Special Legislative Session and was made effective starting this Thursday, December 2nd. This law, also known as the "No Mail Order Abortion Law" helps protect mothers and babies from death and serious, adverse reactions and side affects that are common with chemical, abortion pills like mifepristone and misoprostol. It puts restrictions in place on access for abortion-inducing pills. Mifepristone cuts off hormonal support and misoprostol induces early contractions. Overall, this law restricts access to abortion-inducing drugs by women because these drugs are four times more likely to result in complications than surgical abortions. S.B. 4 effectively puts in place a state standard to restrict access to these abortion-inducing drugs, which are similar to FDA standards. |
