It's officially December, and the holidays are upon us. Governor Ducey helped ring in the holiday season with multiple events this week: a gathering to celebrate Hanukkah, the annual Capitol Christmas tree-lighting ceremony and a press conference to announce the deployment of the Statewide Holiday DUI Enforcement Task Force.

The Governor also took his 93rd trip to southern Arizona, where he toured the University of Arizona's new supersonic wind tunnel and led a roundtable on workforce development. Read more about the visit HERE and HERE, and read about other events this week below.
Governor Ducey Lights Capitol Christmas Tree
Governor Ducey on Wednesday joined Chandler High School choir students, state employees and their families, service members and the crew replacing the Capitol copper dome to light the Arizona State Capitol Christmas tree.

Before lighting the 25-foot white pine, Governor Ducey thanked the team who helped bring the tree to the Capitol from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, and Director of Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management David Tenney provided background on the tree.
PRIMER: Arizona Continues To Expand Access To Broadband
Governor Ducey and the state Legislature have taken numerous actions to expand access to broadband in all corners of Arizona. Most recently, on November 15, Governor Ducey announced a $100 million commitment to expand high-speed broadband to unserved or underserved areas of the state, making it one of the single largest broadband investments in state history.
Governor Ducey Tours University Of Arizona Wind Tunnel, Leads Workforce Roundtable
Governor Ducey traveled to Tucson on Thursday to tour the Arizona Supersonic Wind Tunnel at the University of Arizona and lead a workforce development roundtable.

During the tour of the Arizona Supersonic Wind Tunnel, Governor Ducey learned more about the device and its impact on the university’s research. He was joined by Dr. Bobby Robbins, President of the University of Arizona; Wes Kremer, President of Raytheon Missiles and Defense; and Dr. David Hahn, Jesse Little and Alex Craig of the university's Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering program.
Arizona Celebrates Small Business Saturday
Arizona is home to more than 611,000 small businesses which employ more than one million Arizonans, nearly half of the state’s private workforce. In 2021, more than 70 percent of the net increase in jobs can be attributed to small businesses.

Governor Ducey recently invested $10 million to help small businesses rehire and retain employees, with a focus on businesses affected by wildfires and extreme weather.
Governor Ducey, Law Enforcement Leaders Announce Deployment Of Holiday DUI Enforcement Task Force
“The holidays are some of the most special times of the year — they bring joy and warmth to so many Arizonans across our state,” said Governor Ducey. “Sharing a drink with loved ones during the holidays can be cheerful and fun, but it comes with risks. As always, please be responsible when drinking, and if you have more than the legal limit, do not drive. Get a sober, designated driver. Last year, we lost over 200 Arizonans to alcohol-related crashes. Every Arizonan has it in their power to keep our roads safer by choosing not to operate a vehicle while impaired.”
