SBA-Washington Metropolitan Area District Office Seeks Nominations for 2022 Small Business Week Awards

The Washington Metropolitan Area District Office (WMADO)* of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is pleased to accept nominations for the 2022 Small Business Week Awards program, part of an annual series of National Small Business Week (NSBW) celebrations being held from May 1 through May 7, 2022.?Please click the button below to view and download local award nomination instructions.

National Small Business Week awards include the following categories:

  • Small Business Person of the Year (one national winner selected from all state winners; originates at the local level)
  • Small Business Person of the Year ? Washington, DC (one local winner, who goes on to compete with all state winners for the national award)
  • Small Business Person of the Year ? Suburban Maryland (one local winner, who goes on to compete at the Maryland state level for potential national award consideration)
  • Small Business Person of the Year ? Northern Virginia (one local winner, who goes on to compete at the Virginia state level for potential national award consideration)
  • 8(a) Graduate of the Year (one local winner, who goes on to compete at the Mid-Atlantic regional level for potential national award consideration)
  • Small Business Exporter of the Year?(one local winner, who goes on to compete at the Mid-Atlantic regional level for potential national award consideration)
  • Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Excellence and Innovation Center Award (one local winner, who goes on to compete at the Mid-Atlantic regional level for potential national award consideration)
  • Women's Business Center (WBC) of the Year (one local winner, who goes on to compete at the Mid-Atlantic regional level for potential national award consideration)

All nominations for the above award categories must be completed online via the BOX platform and submitted to the Washington Metropolitan Area District Office by 3:00pm (ET) on January 11, 2022. It is not necessary to set up a box.com account to submit nomination materials.

*As one of 68 district offices around the nation and U.S. territories, the Washington Metropolitan Area District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration serves the District of Columbia, Suburban Maryland (Montgomery and Prince George?s Counties), and Northern Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun Counties; and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church).
