John,
On Wednesday, I was arrested along with our co-founder/CEO, Heidi Sieck, and our Director of Communications, Sara Tabatabaie. As the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case to dismantle Roe v. Wade, we joined patients, providers, clinic escorts, and activists in the street, protesting for reproductive freedom.
The right-wing justices put their disdain for reproductive care and abortion on full display, and it seems like it’s a matter of time before they reverse decades of legal precedent and dismantle the full protections of Roe v. Wade.
This was no accident — we arrived at this moment after a decades-long organized attack by anti-choice politicians and judges, dead set on forcing people to carry a pregnancy and give birth against their will. This is the moment they’ve been waiting for.
But that doesn't mean we're giving up — it means we have to fight harder than ever to keep these bans off our bodies, especially at the local and state levels. Show you're with us by adding your name here.
The years-long failure to prioritize our bodily autonomy and wellbeing by those nearest to the top of our power structures means that we are in the fight of our lives for abortion access.
And we will continue to fight on behalf of the millions harmed by abortion bans and restrictions. We will continue to focus on the states where bans originate. We will continue supporting prochoice champions in state and local elections because they are our most important line of defense against these bans.
And no matter what the Supreme Court does, we will continue to #VOTEPROCHOICE to protect our reproductive freedom in our communities, where it matters most.
