Earlier this week, I traveled back from DC to Minnesota with President Biden to discuss how the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will repair Minnesota’s infrastructure and create good-paying jobs for folks across our state.

Within a five-year span, this historic piece of legislation will allocate:

Over $4.5 billion for highways;
$800 million for public transportation;
$680 million for water infrastructure;
$300 million for bridges;
$100 million for broadband internet, and more.

This long-neglected step in repairing our great state’s infrastructure will create good-paying union jobs and lower prices for products moving through Minnesota’s supply chain. And it’s one of the many ways President Biden and Democrats are building back better . I’m proud to be a part of the team that helped get it done.

But our work isn’t finished — we still have to pass the Build Back Better Act and continue proving to the American people that Democrats are the party that gets the job done.

We cannot keep our country moving forward unless we address the crisis of unaffordable child care, invest hundreds of billions of dollars in clean energy to transition away from fossil fuels, expand Medicare and Medicaid, and negotiate lower prescription drug prices with Big Pharma.

The Build Back Better bill is our best shot at addressing these common demands of everyday Americans. The House already passed this landmark piece of legislation, now it’s up to the Senate to act.
