On Monday,?Lt. Governor Jon Husted, along with JobsOhio, announced the addition of 80 new jobs in Ohio, including 40 in Athens in the Southeast region and 40 in Northeast Ohio. The announcement was made possible through the state?s partnership with the London Stock Exchange?s ELITE Program. While overseas, Lt. Governor Husted also closed the deal to locate the prestigious program?s first-ever headquarters for the Americas in Cleveland, Ohio.
On Tuesday, Governor?Mike DeWine attended the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference (OTEC). He participated in a dialogue with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Jack Marchbanks and discussed the importance of transportation safety.?
Governor DeWine also signed Executive Order 2019-26D, re-establishing DriveOhio as the statewide center for smart mobility.?
Also on Tuesday,? Lt. Governor Husted ceremonially opened the London Stock Exchange in celebration of Ohio?s ongoing partnership with the exchange. The LSE ELITE Program works with companies around the world to help them access capital in order to achieve their growth goals. Companies that go through the ELITE program grow up to seven times more in revenue and create up to four times more jobs versus their industry peers.
On Wednesday, Governor DeWine delivered remarks at the Ohio Department of Higher Education's annual Trustees Conference.? More than 200 university and community college?presidents, trustees, administrators, and leaders from Ohio's public two-year and four-year colleges and universities attended. ?
On Thursday, Governor DeWine attended the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging Conference.? This was a two- day conference attended by more than 450 social workers, nurses, professionals, advocates, and volunteers, representing the area agencies on aging, service providers, and others in the aging and disability network.?
On Friday, Lt. Governor Husted spoke at the Call to Duty Ceremony for the 174th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Task Force Buckeye. The task force will deploy to the Washington D.C.-area to support the Homeland Defense Mission as part of Operation Noble Eagle, which protects the National Capital Region using radar, ground-based air defense systems, and communications equipment.
