Dear Friend --
Nine months ago, the Blue Line closed to reimagine safety and the
riding experience. Tomorrow, we reopen as the A Line!
It's time
to celebrate with the return of Metro's oldest light-rail line,
providing direct service between downtown Long Beach and downtown Los
Angeles. Please join Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell, Supervisor
Janice Hahn, and me tomorrow, Saturday from 10 AM-1 PM, at Promenade
Square on 1st Street, just steps from the A Line's 1st Street
Station.
We have awaited the completion of this project and now
it's time to reopen. This $350 million investment will improve safety,
increase reliability, and enhance the customer experience by providing
new lighting, refurbished stations, updated signage, digital real-time
arrival displays, and new landscaping and fencing.
In addition,
you will experience a much cleaner A Line, with new trains, and—the
best part of all—a faster end-to-end link, as efforts here in Long
Beach and in Los Angeles have shortened the trip to its fastest time
ever. What’s more, Metro is offering free rides all weekend long and
into the first weekday of A Line service, from this Saturday, November
2nd through Monday, November 4th.

weekend's celebration, go to metro.net/aline.

We've
waited and now let's celebrate. We hope to see you there
tomorrow!
Go Long Beach! And Go A Line!
